Diving Squad Rating:
9.8 / 10
With next level itineraries and the most luxurious cabin options of any komodo liveaboard, this extremely spacious and modern yacht also has some of the hands down sleekest and most stylish amenities.
If it weren’t for the fact that she only tours Komodo a few months of the year, I’d rate her 10 / 10 from a komodo liveaboard perspective, but on many months she is in other parts of Indonesia, so it’s advisable to book well in advance.
Great for: Luxury Cabins, Amenities, Extra Activities, Couple, Friends, All Encompassing Dive Trips.
Trip Lengths: 8 – 10 days
Max No. of Guests: 22
Tours Komodo: Intermittent throughout year. See booking page for months in Komodo. (Operates in different parts of Indonesia for other months).
First, let’s talk about the available diving trips:
Both trips also feature deserted beach treks and a visit to komodo national park ranger station, where you can come face to face with the mighty komodo dragons!
You only require your open water cert and 10 logged dives to embark on either trip, which makes them fairly beginner friendly. Furthermore, you can pay extra to hire a private dive guide and learn your scuba diving courses on the go!
Extra activities include kayaking, stand up paddleboarding, guided snorkelling, massage treatment plus welcome cocktails. There’s also paid WiFi and optional Nitrox at an extra cost.
The nicest stand out feature of Gaia Love are the 11 insanely luxurious cabins; all of them feature a stunning modern interior with ensuite bathrooms, a private TV and individually controlled AC.
Best of all, the upper deck cabins have private outdoor balconies and large picture windows that offer epic ocean views.
Gaia Love takes the prize for the most luxurious cabins. Only one other luxury komodo liveaboard has cabins with private balconies; Coralia – but in the case of Coralia, it’s balcony cabins do not have private tvs.
Chill out zones include a very large, partially shaded sundeck, al fresco bar and outdoor lounge as well as an an indoor saloon & dining room.
There’s also a camera room with charging stations in addition to 11 large rinse tanks that are stationed around the beautiful dive deck for washing camera gear and dive equipment.
Still, if you are really serious about underwater photography, you should check out Duyung Baru.
The crew, which includes a naturalist guide, are experienced, knowledgeable and friendly – they’re on hand to attend to every one of your needs with an almost 1:1 staff to guest ratio.
I seriously like the Gaia Love. Sure, there’s only two types of komodo itinerary on offer, but these still give the option to fully delve into Komodo National Park or combine it with exploration of other parts of nearby Indonesia.
This is a beautiful and very modern yacht; whilst hardcore lovers of the traditional wooden phinisi design may find the modern vibes less appealing, others will appreciate the sleek, stylish and comfortable amenities spread out across a whopping 4 decks.
Gaia Love is exceptionally well equipped from a diving point of view, with her gorgeous wooden dive deck, camera room and two skiffs to give quick, easy access to the best dive sites.
With superb itineraries, the most luxurious cabin options…of any luxury komodo liveaboard and the fact htat she is the only option with an al fresco bar; you’ll be hard pushed to find a more satisfying and all encompassing komodo live than Gaia Love. See you again soon Gaia…
