The liveaboard of Princess Rani.

With the “extreme south cruise”, Princess Rani is one of the few liveaboards to explore dive sites around Addu and Fuvahmulah, the two southernmost atolls of the Maldives, which have only been open to tourism for the past few years.

Many shoals of  large fish including tuna, barracuda, riflemen and butterfly fish live here and these attract oceanic hunters such as grouper, thresher sharks and oceanic white tip sharks.

Lucky divers may even see the groups of dolphins that can often be heard singing in the distance when underwater.

Another south bound route is the “Tiger Shark Cruise” where the aim is to spot as many Tiger, Hammerhead, Thresher Sharks, Grey and Silky Sharks as possible!

The highly experienced crew of 13 select the best dive sites based on the season, what guests want to see and in order to avoid the crowds. There is also a naturalist guide.

For unwinding between dives there’s 3 sun decks, with loungers and beanbags; plus a large, indoor saloon featuring a stylish bar, paid internet, and video entertainment.

Meals are served either at the indoor dining area or al-fresco on the main deck, with a constantly changing menu of freshly prepared, Italian inspired cuisine.

There are ten immaculate double or triple cabins equipped with poster beds, AC and ensuite bathrooms plus stunning ocean views.

Divers need at least open water certification and 30 logged dives for some trips, whereas other trips require advanced open water cert and 50 logged dives. Nitrox is available on request.

Extra activities include fishing, snorkelling, welcome cocktails and a beach bbq.

Princess Rani has a beautiful wooden interior with ample common areas , although there are not as many facilities or extra activities compared to other maldives liveaboards.

However, the most defining trait of this liveaboard is that she ventures into the Maldives’ deep south, where pristine and unexplored diving awaits.

Very well organised and very nice crew. The food was an awesome surprise, the best food we've had in the maldives. The dive sites were very well picked and guided. Great to see tiger sharks, grey reef, hammerhead and also some cool small stuff.
