Azalea Review

Diving Squad Rating:

9.7/10

9.7 / 10

Wow! Luxury Maldives liveaboards don’t get any more all inclusive than this.

You can partake in so many extra activities and experiences with the Azalea that it’s far more than just a diving liveaboard.

Great for: Extra activities, Non Divers, Watersports, Luxury Facilities, Families, Couples.

Trip Lengths: 5 – 8 days

Max Guest Capacity: 16

Operates: Year round

Details:

The “Best of the Maldives” route tours the central Maldives, exploring the very best dive sites around the legendary Male and Ari atolls and also the less seldom visited Felidhe (aka Vaavu) atoll.

Around the male atolls, there’s great channel, cave and deep diving to be had over a varied underwater landscape of towering pinnacles, mighty drop offs and beautiful hard coral reef. It’s a great place to spot reef sharks, large pelagic fish and turtles.

The Ari atolls are a little more exotic with hammerhead sharks, whale sharks and several great wreck dives, such as Fesdu wreck. They’re also teeming with reef fish.

Felidhe / Vavvu atoll is more isolated and well known for excellent cave diving, soft coral, deserted islands and manta rays!

Azalea wins the prize for offering more extra activities than any other Maldives liveaboard, period.

Guests can partake in  wakeboarding, jet skiing, kayaking, paddleboarding, snorkelling, massages, a glass bottom boat excursion and a beautifully illuminated BBQ beach party!

For relaxation between all this, there’s a large indoor dining area located on the main deck which is connect to the luxurious al-fresco dining space.

On the upper deck is a large TV lounge and bar which leads through to a sleek and comfortable outdoor lounge with partial shading and plush furniture.

Above this lies the huge sundeck an excellent place to soak in the incredible Maldives views, whilst unwinding in the hot tub, with a drink in hand from the bar.

All cabins feature a stylish, modern design, AC, ample storage space and an ensuite bathroom.

The Ocean View cabins offer Queen/King Size beds with the finest Egyptian linen and stunning ocean views, as well as a private bath.

The Superior cabins have twin beds and are situated below deck – here, guests get underwater views. One can wake up to see a fish staring back through your window at you.

The only thing Azalea doesn’t do is make trips to the less seldom visited north and south regions of the Maldives.

Therefore, if exploring the most off the beaten track dive sites is your number one priority, you may prefer going with Conte Max or Duke of York.

However in terms of onboard facilities and extra services, Azalea blows every other liveaboard out of the water. You can do more watersports, spa treatments and extra activities with her than any other vessel.

"This was my first liveaboard and I am sure it will be the best! Everything on the boat is very clean, many free public space for leisure times. Different tasty fruit drink served after each dive. High quality services delivered by professional crews. Food and the table set up are also awesome! In general, it was a fantastic experience with Azalea! I will definitely be on this boat again!'

"I booked this trip via liveaboard.com and had only moderate expectations. This high-end Azalea liveaboard cruise has exceeded every expectation that I ever had! Everything from the operator and crew having such attention to detail made my dive vacation the best I have ever had. It was truly luxurious and everything the dive guides said we would see in the briefings, we saw, and more!!! They were so knowledgeable in taking us from site to site. The food was prepared fresh daily and was absolutely delicious. This being one of the more expensive liveaboards, it attracted a high quality group of divers which will be life-long friends to me. This experience was like no other and I will be repeating it, bringing some of my South Florida friends with me."

“The Azalea does things differently, they do their best to get you to popular dive sites when others are leaving so you can enjoy uninterrupted, uncrowded, and unspoiled dives.

The food was nothing short of fantastic always more than enough to go around and the chefs will gladly whip up a snack if you ever get hungry.

As for the boat; you cannot find another yacht in the Maldives offering the same comfort and quality finishings. Multiple outdoor lounge areas, watersports activities, and relaxing indoor furnishing offer more than enough personal space and activities that everyone can enjoy! I will most definitely find my way back onto the Azalea for another trip.

Thank you to all the crew for making it such a memorable experience!”
