Jaya Review

Diving Squad Rating:

8.5/10

8.5 / 10

The joint second cheapest Raja Ampat liveaboard Jaya gives guests an incredible bang for their buck due to the fact that on some days you get to do an extra 4th dive.

Triple cabins make this a great choice for groups of three, whilst the fact that you only need your open water certification and 4 logged dives, means it is also beginner friendly.

Great for: Value for Money, Groups of 3, Beginner Divers, Cheap.

Trip Lengths: 7 – 9 days

Max Group Size: 14

Operates: Feb – May & September, December.

Details:

Jaya runs two kinds of diving trip:

  1. The “Best of Dampier” option which focuses on the best dive sites around the legendary Dampier Strait of central Raja Ampat over 7 days.

  2. Or there’s the “Dampier/Misool Exploration” which in addition to visiting Dampier Strait also includes diving around southern Raja Ampats’ Misool island at a total of 9 days.

With both dive safaris, guests can rest assured knowing that they are going to get superb value for money as on some days you get an extra dive, resulting in a total of 4 dives on select days.

This is really awesome, especially when you consider that nearly every other liveaboard only ever gives 3 dives a day!

Exhilarating night dives, beautiful night dives, exciting drift dives, macro dives and epic wall dives can be had whilst witnessing manta rays, sharks, turtles, large pelagic fish and more.

Jaya is also one of the very few liveaboards that only requires you to have you open water certification and 4 logged dives, making her one of the most beginner friendly options.

There are 4 twin and 2 triple cabins, all of which have a sleek wooden interior with AC, charging sockets and fresh towels.

On the shaded upper deck, guests can enjoy al fresco dining with superb surrounding views, whilst the sundeck is kitted out with beanbags and loungers, making it ideal to soak up some rays.

"The staff was absolutely amazing!! So knowledgable and personable, they truly made this an all encompassing experience. The boat itself was awesome, big enough to be comfortable, small enough to keep the trip personal. The diving was phenomenal, great marine life, and beautiful dive sites. We will definitely be back on board the Jaya soon"!

“We saw a manta, jumping dolphins in the nature. It was a wonderful memory. All staffs are very friendly, pick up service / diving schedule was on time, well organized. Food / snack was delicious, no need cup noodles. It could be better to separate the toilet and shower room.

Our dive guide Erica kept us safe in any situation and showed us Wobbegong shark, shrimp, Pipe fishes, etc. Local staffs shared with us their life stories like family, marriage, their further plan, it was a good chance to know their life.

And please indicate clearly tips required on the price list to be more transparent& budget setting. it is indeed valuable unforgettable experience”!
