With superb luxury accommodation, facilities and extra activities, this yacht is deserving of the title of PADI 5-star dive resort.

The most frequently operated tour, the “Best of Maldives” trip, explores the central atolls: Male, Ari and Vaavu.
This is undeniably the oldest and most famous scuba diving region in the Maldives and the best place for spotting large numbers of reef sharks.
Manta rays and many large pelagic fish are abundant here as well, due to the deep channels around this region, with a vivid and exciting underwater environment comprised of stunning topography that features many caves, swim throughs and drop offs.
For this route, divers need only their open water certification, making it beginner friendly.
There’s also a “Deep South” trip, which takes guests from the main central atoll Male, all the way down to Kooddoo, where divers have a great chance of spotting rarer shark species and even a “Meet the Whale Sharks” evening activity. .
The diving staff have many years of experience and are exceptionally competent at explaining the local marine life as they accompany you on fast paced drift dives, exhilarating night dives, cave diving and more.
On all trips, guests can look forward to daily yoga classes (always in the morning and sometimes at sunset to!), starlit beach bbq’s, movie nights, beach bars, snorkelling, fishing and watersports (kayaking and stand up paddle boarding).
There is a spectacular range of cuisine to be enjoyed, with each dinner comprising a theme such as Mexican, Italian or Asian, all of which can be enjoyed alongside world class wines and champagne.
Onboard facilities include the jacuzzi, gym, huge sundecks with loungers, the luxury spa, bar, free wifi and observation deck.
The beautifully furbished cabins all feature double / twin options and boast ensuite bathrooms, AC and spectacular sea views.
The most surprising thing about Scubaspa Yang is that despite the luxury facilities and additional experiences; she is surprisingly affordable, being at mid-price range, rather than luxury.
The only thing this liveaboard doesn’t do, is make voyages to the far northern or deep southern atolls; the true off the beaten track dive destinations of the Maldives.
That said, the central area atolls, which Scubaspa Yang does explore, have a great variety of underwater environments with many reef sharks and other common large pelagic species. These are the areas that made the Maldives famous among divers.
In my opinion, although you visit less off the beaten track dive sites with Scubaspa Yang compared to other liveaboards such as Blue Voyager and Carpe Novo, from a luxury facilities and additional activities perspective, this is the best liveaboard in the entire Maldives.
“The wildlife was the ultimate highlight of this trip. There was so much life on these reefs! There were dives for different skill levels, and I was definitely happy that I took the nitrox course so that I got that longer bottom time to hang with the sharks at their cleaning stations.
The staff were all wonderful: the dive guides were experienced and helpful, the chefs and servers were skilled in their crafts, the bartender was friendly and available, the behind-the-scenes guys were just that—returning to a perfectly refreshed room daily.
I enjoyed the spa treatment I received as well. Totally fantastic experience! I can’t wait to go back! Thanks a heap to the scubaspa team”!!
