Most Luxurious Liveaboard of the Maldives: ScubaSpa Yang

ScubaSpa Yang is a very special liveaboard: as well as having an onboard spa and jacuzzi…it is the only Maldives liveaboard to also have a gym, yoga classes, open-air cinema and to be classed as a 5-Star PADI dive resort!

It’s little surprise that ScubaSpa Yang has won many awards including the South Asian Leading Liveaboard Awards 2016 – 2018 and various others such as “Best Boat Design” and “Maldives Boating Brand of the Year”.

With a superb team of 30 staff; including experienced dive guides, yoga teachers, talented chefs and 6 highly trained spa therapists; ScubaSpa Yang is truly luxurious.

Most trips explore the Maldives’ central region but on some months trips to the far south are available.

Great for: Wellness, Luxury, Extra Activities, Spaciousness, Value for Money

Trip Lengths: 4 – 7 Nights

Max Guests: 40

Scubapsa Yang liveaboard.

The onboard spa is 300m2 and has 6 treatment rooms including a double room for couples. Guests can choose from a range of treatments from traditional massage to scented bath and hot stone press.

Perhaps the most popular common area is the main sundeck which has a jacuzzi, partial shading and plenty of space for the free daily yoga classes.

There is also an open-air cinema (guests can look forward to movie nights every night!) as well as a partially shaded outdoor lounge. This connects to an incredibly sophisticated bar area serving many fine wines, cocktails, beers and liquors.
For fitness buffs there is even a small gym with treadmill, cycling machine and other equipment.

Inside ScubaSpa is the huge air-conditioned salon: this is a great place for escaping the sun and relaxing with a book or movie. And of course; it is here where the gourmet food is served; with nightly dinner themes such as Mexican, Italian and Asian – guests frequently cite the food on ScubaSpa as being incredible.

There are 10 cabins and 9 suites with a choice of King, Queen or twin bed configurations for all. Every cabins has an ensuite bathrooms, plenty of space, beautiful interior lighting and in the case of the Suite’s incredible ocean view windows.

Most trips with ScubaSpa explore the very best dive sites of the Central Maldives where you can see many manta rays, sharks, dolphins and big pelagic fish amidst stunning underwater landscapes of pinnacles, channels and wall covered in superb coral. Sometimes, trips to the more rarely visited south are also available.

The dive guides are extremely experienced and knowledgable of the local marine life; it’s also possible to privatley complete scuba diving courses with them or if you’ve never dived before have a  “try dive”!

Other activities include kayaking, standup paddle-boarding, beach barbeques and more.

Yes – ScubaSpa Yang may be one of the most expensive Maldives liveaboards, but if you can afford it – you’ll realise it is by far the best one.
Note: ScubaSpa Yang has an identical sister – ScubaSpa Yin which is almost exactly the same in terms of boat layout and features, price and diving itineraries. You can therefore consider this review of ScubaSpa Yang to tell you everything you need to know about ScubaSpa Yin.
