At the start of 2020 the coronavirus pandemic wrecked havoc on people’s lives, the economy and the travel industry. Many scuba divers have been forced to cancel their plans due to uncertainty over strict lockdown measures taking place in most countries.
Although things are now slowly returning to normal, there is still a considerable deal of uncertainty over exactly when things will get back to how they used to be. The scuba diving liveaboard industry has been heavily affected by this and subsequently there are many huge discounts currently available on upcoming liveaboard trips.
But the question people continue to ask is “what if it’s not possible to go on my liveaboard trip when the time comes”? To counter this, the New Flexible Booking Terms & Conditions are as follows:
“If travel restrictions are implemented by local government or the government of the country people are travelling to due to COVID 19 (Coronavirus) so they are unable to travel, then by booking the participating liveaboard they will have the option of:
– A full refund with no cancellation penalties up to 30 days before departure
– The opportunity to move your booking to another date for the same liveaboard up to 24 months from the original departure date with no rebooking fees
Applies to all new bookings placed from 1 June to 31 July 2020 for travel between 1 July 2020 until 31 December 2021″.
*The above policies are subject to change without further notice. Rebooking is subject to availability and may be subject to price changes. Applicable to new bookings only. Offer is not retroactive and does not apply to previous bookings which are being rescheduled.
These rules apply to all of the liveabaords reviewed by Diving Squad. We wish you a safe journey through the rest of 2020 in body, mind and spirit; we hope to see you back in the water soon.
